PIERS Morgan left Susanna Reid fuming after he asked if the "Strictly curse" hit her and Kevin Clifton.

Susanna reached the final of the BBC dancing competition with Kevin in 2013, while both were married.

But when Kevin appeared on Good Morning Britain to promote his new musical The Wedding Singer, Piers Morgan took the opportunity to make a jibe at his co-host.

Quizzing her on the show, Piers said: " I mean, did you or didn't you? Did the strictly curse 'strike'?"

An impressed Susanna replied: "I don't think we need Kevin Clifton in for me to answer that."

Undeterred, Piers teased her: "Apparently live on air he's going to catch one of our presenters unaware making a bombshell revelation about the time they worked together… I didn't work with him!"

Later on in the show, Kevin wasn't playing ball with Piers and refused to answer his questions about the Strictly curse.

Piers asked: "Your body is compressed very closely to a very attractive woman, if I'm allowed to say that without being rushed to HR. Temptation, surely, is high."

Kevin responded with: "So The Wedding Singer opens tonight, which is what we are here to talk about Piers."

Piers asked why he was avoiding the question, so he said: "Because it's generic. It's the same question every journalist who doesn't have a better question has asked for ten years."

The Strictly Come Dancing curse is where people in relationships end up hooking up with their partners on the show.

In 2013, Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen, as well as Rachel Riley and Pasha Kovalev – who married in 2019.

Also, Kevin Clifton ended up in a relationship with his 2018 partner Stacey Dooley, who he is still in a relationship with.

Stacey was in a five-year romance with personal trainer Sam Tucknott at the time, but insists there was no overlap.

Susanna Reid also split with her husband Dominic Cotton in 2014, though she insists it has nothing to do with Strictly.

Kevin expressed how unhappy he was with the interview on Twitter when he quote tweeted a fan's tweet that read: "You get Kev on to talk about his up coming projects and all it was about was why didn't Kev and Susanna have a bunk up lol was like watching Loose Women."

Kevin added a shrugging emoji and: "Yeah Kev come tell us about starring in the musical The Wedding Singer."
