Piers Morgan teases GMB return: 'Not everything needs to be a new normal'
Piers Morgan, Holly Willoughby and Lorraine led the ITV morning team in a new promo declaring that they were heading ‘back to normal’ from September 1.
Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women united in the new video with a shared statement.
As the small clip shot through kaleidoscope-like squares, stars including Stacey Solomon, Judi Love and Brenda Edwards shared videos from their time in lockdown, as they also adjusted to time in quarantine.
Taking a line each, the leading team of GMB, Lorraine and This Morning shared the new mission, and told viewers: ‘We’ve had a hair cut. And a pint. We’ve been reunited with loved ones. Out to eat. Met friends. Back to school. And adjusted to a new normal.
‘We’ve had twists and turns. We’ve had ups and downs. We’ve begun to expect the unexpected.
‘What will September bring? No matter what comes next. We’re with you every step of the way.’
Piers then ended the video by stating: ‘In a world where everything is different. Not everything needs to be a new normal.’
Most of the lead hosts – including GMB’s Piers and Susanna, Lorraine Kelly, and This Morning’s Holly and Phil – have been absent from our screens for the past month as part of their summer break.
The news of the September 1 comeback definitely will put fans of Holly at ease, amid claims she was ready to leave This Morning for a shot at primetime presenting.
Holly has since denied the rumours and has instead been making the most of the time with her family on holiday in Portugal – which was unfortunately forced to be cut short.
Holly, her husband Dan Baldwin, and their three children were forced to return home when Prime Minister Boris Johnson implemented travel restrictions on the country, meaning people returning from Portugal have to self-isolate for two weeks to help stall the spread of coronavirus.
Piers also came home early from his family trip to the South Of France for the same reason, and suffered an even bigger set back when the villa he was staying in was robbed the night before he left, while he and his wife were asleep upstairs.
ITV Daytime starts with Good Morning Britain, weekdays from 6am on ITV.
