Rami Malek Says Fans Will Be "Shocked" In "No Time To Die" James Bond Film

The release date for the highly-anticipated and milestone 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die, has been pushed back twice due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

No Time to Die was initially scheduled for an April 2020 release, but the pandemic caused the date to be pushed back to November. Last month, the decision was made to further delay the release until April 2, 2021.

The pandemic has caused several other hyped up films to be pushed back numerous times. This includes Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which went from a planned June 2021 release date to October 2021 to March 2022.

Now, any James Bond movie will carry plenty of anticipation and excitement. But No Time to Die is especially full of suspense because it’ll mark Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007.

Last year, Craig confirmed that he’ll step away from the James Bond role after No Time to Die. This has even led to rumors that his character will be killed off, which is obviously highly unlikely.

Rami Malek, who received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, is starring as Safin, the main villain in No Time to Die.

During an interview with GQ, Malek was asked about several theories for No Time to Die. Understandably, Malek wouldn’t address them, but he promised that the 25th Bond film would “shock” fans.

“Let the rumours fly, because no matter what you expect from this movie, you will be shocked when you watch the film,” Malek said. “I will not add any fuel to that fire.”

Not a whole lot is known about Malek’s Safin character, which has only added to the intrigue and excitement of No Time to Die.

The movie trailers haven’t given away much regarding the character’s personality and motives in the film.

Aside from Craig and Malek, No Time to Die also stars Lashana Lynch (Nomi) and Ana de Armas Paloma). Léa Seydoux (Dr. Madeleine Swann), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter), Ben Whishaw (Q), Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear (Bill Tanner), Ralph Fiennes (M) and Christoph Waltz (Ernst Stavro Blofeld) will reprise their respective roles.
