Real reason Love Island’s Ovie says ‘message’ after every text rumbled by fans
Love Island 2019 fans think they have rumbled the real reason Ovie Soko keeps saying “message” whenever an islander announces a text has come through.
Viewers began to notice since his debut that whenever the famous “I’ve got a text” phrase was said in the villa, Ovie was quick to add something.
Show producers communicate with the islanders via their phones for things like dumpings, recouplings, new arrivals and challenges.
Since the beginning, whenever an islander receives a message they have always shouted to their co-stars: “I’ve got a text.”
But now, Ovie has upped things and viewers are loving it.
Since entering the villa after arriving in Casa Amor weeks ago, viewers have spotted every time an islander says “I’ve got a text” he responds by saying: “Message.”
It’s now been rumbled by fans the possible real reason he does this every time.

While some viewers simply loved his comments, others commented on Twitter that the real reason for his antics was linked to a film.
In the Wayans brothers' hit movie Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, a postman shouts “message” throughout whenever a character comes to a realisation.
Fans of the movie and Love Island have now worked out that Ovie popping up and shouting “message” each time a text comes through, appears to be a homage to the hilarious scenes.
One viewer said: “NOBODY gets the ‘message’ thing Ovie keeps doing!! HAVE YOU SEEN DONT BE A MENACE THOUGH?!”
Another tweeted: “If anyone wants to know… Ovie saying 'message' like that is from a brilliant film called 'don't be a menace in south central’.”
A third agreed: “Ovie quoting Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood shouting 'message' cracks me up every time.”
Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
