Riverdale season 4 spoilers: Betty Cooper star confirms Midnight Club return?
Riverdale has had a number of memorable episodes over the past three outings, but one of the most popular is the throwback episode where fans were taken back to 1992.
Season three, episode four, introduced fans to a young Alice Cooper (played by Lili Reinhart), FP Jones (Cole Spouse), Fred Andrews (KJ Apa), Hermione Lodge (Camila Mendes), Sierra McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), Penelope Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and Tom Keller (Casey Cott) along with many more.
Set in the nineties, fans find out a lot more about the high-schoolers’ parents than ever before, alongside how the game started.
Fans will remember Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick) was forced to come clean about how the parents played the game in their young years, and had all grown up plagued with the same unsolved mystery of who killed Principal Featherhead (Anthony Michael Hall).
The episode was packed with nineties’ music and fashion and fans have been longing for more throwbacks ever since the episode dropped.
However, Betty Cooper star Lili Reinhart may have just hinted Netflix viewers will see Midnight Club again.
In conversation with Extra TV, the star said: “I think we are if I… I don’t know if I can say this, probably, I think we’re gonna do another flashback episode… but in a different era”.
Lili’s co-stars seemed to confirm this as Madeline jumped in saying: “I would love that, that was so fun”
“Yeah, I think we are” added Camilla.
Madeline continued: “When they were babies!”
However, the cast didn’t seem to want to reveal too much as Camilla quickly jumped in, telling fans: “That’s all we’re gonna say!”
Although nothing is confirmed, the star’s comments leave a big enough hint fans will be reunited with the Midnight Club once again.
With the Gargoyle King already revealed as Penelope Blossom, fans can only wonder what secrets will be revealed about the past of the Riverdale parents.
The stars spoke out following their appearance at Comic-Con where Jughead star Cole recently teased what is to come for his character and Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart).
Although Betty and Jughead were on great terms when fans left them in season three, they may be forced into a tough position where their relationship is concerned.
Addressing fans concerns, Cole explained: “I’ve been asked a lot if it’s going to put tension into Betty and Jughead’s relationship.
“As of now, it doesn’t look like that’s where it’s going. But Jughead’s only in Riverdale on the weekends now.”
In season four, Jughead will be attending prep school for senior year, splitting him from his friends and girlfriend as his relationships become long-distance.
“…But I don’t know how much interaction Charles and Jughead are actually going to have this season,” Cole teased.
Riverdale season four returns to The CW and Netflix later this year.
