'RuPaul's Drag Race': Who Is Miz Cracker's Drag Mother?

Mother’s Day is in a few months, so it’s no better time to start highlighting non-traditional mothers, such as moms in the RuPaul’s Drag Race network. Miz Cracker, a season 10 contestant (and possible upcoming All Stars queen), is the daughter to a fellow New York queen.

Miz Cracker on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

Miz Cracker, whose real name is Maxwell Heller, made their debut on the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. They were one of several New York queens that were cast on the show, including Aquaria, who she has been compared to.

They gained popularity on the series and advanced far especially because of their humor and comedy. Miz Cracker was eliminated in the eleventh episode of the season, placing fifth in the season overall and just missing out on the finale.

Though nothing official has been confirmed, it is heavily rumored that Miz Cracker could return to the franchise as a contestant on the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars. This is a very likely possibility given that she was a high-placing favorite on a recent season.

Her drag mother is ‘Drag Race’ royalty

Miz Cracker’s drag mother is Bob the Drag Queen, another RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni. In fact, Bob the Drag Queen is the winner of the eighth season of the competition series. Miz Cracker was also the tenth season with Monét x Change, who is considered to be drag sisters with Bob the Drag Queen.

For a 2015 Slate piece before either of them were on the show, Miz Cracker penned a Mother’s Day essay in tribute to Bob the Drag Queen. She wrote in part, “For three years, she has been everything that the greeting cards praise in good mothers, sitting in the front row at my performances, celebrating my victories, acknowledging failures, challenging me to think bigger. Whether I’m lounging in the chaos of her living room or shepherding the uninitiated to one of her countless weekly shows, I’m always discovering something new thanks to her.”

The piece continues, “But I never stop thinking back to the very first day she painted my face. How she provided every drop of makeup I needed. How she fixed up my cheap wig with a bright flower. How carefully she helped me into a tremendous white gown. When she finally turned me around to face the mirror that morning, I saw something I’d never encountered: A reflection that I wasn’t afraid to look at. It was me, and it wasn’t me. It was something to which only a drag mother could give birth.:
