Sophie Webster's Coronation Street exit date and storyline revealed – here's when Brooke Vincent is leaving
BROOKE Vincent has bowed out of Coronation Street as she's just given birth to her first child with footie player Kean Bryan.
But how – and when – does her character, Sophie Webster, leave the cobbles? Here’s everything you need to know as the actress welcomes her son Mexx S J Bryan…
When does Sophie Webster leave Coronation Street?
It’s been confirmed that Sophie Webster’s final scenes aired on October 9, 2019 even though the actress actually left back in August.
Actress Brooke Vincent shared her emotional final moments on set after shooting scenes in Dev's corner shop.
In the clips, several cast and crew, including Antony Cotton and Mikey North, said goodbye to the mum-to-be.
The star was clearly emotional as she received a bouquet of flowers from on-screen mum Sally Dynevor, who stepped forward to give a touching speech.
She told her: "We're going to miss you so much.
"Oh Brooke we all love you so much, you've been here since you were 11. This is your home.
"You can come back anytime you want to, bring the baby."
On Instagram, Brooke wrote: "I can’t believe 15 years ago I came onto the street to play “Sophie Webster” and today I left to play my biggest role yet “Mummy” my amazing family at Coronation Street I am going to miss you all so much.
"Thank you for always looking after me, for keeping me on the straight and narrow and for letting me get away with murder over the years.
"Also @kean8 for making my last day extra special coming home to the best treats!! I really am super lucky!!"
How did Sophie leave Corrie?
Sophie has headed off to Columbia to go travelling with Kate Connor after inheriting thousands of pounds from her Aunt Vi.
She was tricked into going by lover Paula Martin, who told Sophie they would both leave for the adventure.
But Paula – having been given food for thought by Kev’s sister Debbie – revealed at the last minute that she wasn’t going. Nor had she planned to at all.
The legal eagle realised that Sophie’s heart was set on travelling and she was only holding her back.
They said an emotional goodbye before Sophie set off.
Brooke is expected to return to the soap in about a year’s time.
When did she give birth?
Brooke gave birth to her son Mexx S J Bryan on October 23 , 2019.
But it wasn't until October 28 that the new mum announced the news, sharing a black and white snap of the newborn's little finger holding onto her "baby B" necklace.
Brooke wrote: "On Wednesday 23rd October at 8.14am Our Baby Boy Arrived. Mexx S J Bryan, you complete us."
Prior to the announcement, Brooke's co-star Sally Dynevor – who plays Sally Metcalfe – appeared to accidentally let slip her birthing plan as she discussed spending time with her on screens daughters, played by Helen Flanagan and Brooke.
She said: “Helen and Brooke are good. We had lunch together last week, which was very funny, we laughed a lot.
"Helen didn't have her children with her and Brooke is off to have her baby, so she has her baby next weekend.”
The actress added: "It's an exciting time for the girls.
"They're lovely girls and we're very close, so it's lovely."
Brooke revealed she was pregnant in April but didn't reveal her due date and has never said whether she was scheduled for a Cesarean as Sally’s comment suggests.
