WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Squid Game.
Squid Game will return for a second outing on Netflix but what is there to know about the sequel series so far?
The South Korean thriller series followed divorced gambler Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) as he and 455 others were knocked out and taken to a secret island to take part in children’s games with deadly spins.
Gi-hun came out as the winner, taking home his 45.6billion prize and heading to the airport so he could travel to Los Angeles to visit his daughter.
But on the way there, he saw the man who he had taken him to take part in the games in the first place, now trying to convince another stranger to go with him.
Gi-hun couldn’t let this happen though as he took the calling card from what would have been another victim, dialled the number on it and declared he was going to put a stop to the games for good.

Has a release date been announced for Squid Game season 2?
As of yet, an official release date hasn’t been announced for Squid Game season two on Netflix.
The show’s first table read took place in June 2023 with production expected to start “later this year”.
Filming is predicted to take around 10 months like season one did so could indicate a late 2024 start date.
Unlike other shows, it’s believed that Squid Game will not be affected by Hollywood’s ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WAG strikes, as the show is created and filmed in South Korea.
As a result, their filming schedules and deals would be different, and they can likely continue without much – if any – interruption.
