Strictly 2019: Will Bayley announced as 10th celeb to join BBC show
Strictly Come Dancing is back and ahead of the nation gathering in front of their televisions every Saturday night, the official celebrity line-up is slowly being announced, one celebrity at a time.
Today, on Talk Radio the 10th celebrity taking to the dance floor in hope of lifting the Glitterball Trophy this December was announced.
Will Bayley is best known for being the World Table Tennis Paralympian champion, having recently won Gold at the Japan Open 2019.
Discussing this new and exciting opportunity, Will said: “I’m so proud to be on the show, it’s my family’s favourite show.
As for how he is going to fair in the competition, the sportsman added: “I have no dance experience at all, but I hope I can do well.
“I want to inspire people with a disability- that would mean a lot to me. I want to prove to people I can do this.”
In January 2017 Will was awarded an MBE for services for Table Tennis and is currently training to defend his Paralympic title at the Tokyo 2020 games.
Alongside this, he is classified as a Class 7 Paralympic athlete and was one of the stars of London 2012 and Rio 2016 games, winning consecutive silver and gold medals.
The condition he suffers with is called arthrogryposis, which he has had since birth.
It is a rare condition which affects all four of his limbs.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to comment on the latest sign-up, with many offering their best wishes.

During this morning’s instalment of Lorraine, Michelle Visage was revealed as a contestant of the 2019 series.
Will and Michelle are set to join Viscountess Emma Weymouth and CBBC presenter Karim Zeroul on the dance floor.
Also battling it out for the crown is BBC Breakfast sports reporter Mike Bushell, as well as actress best known for her seven-year-stint on Coronation Street, Catherine Tyldesley.
Saffron Baker was revealed as the fourth contestant on Heart Radio earlier last week, while Emma Barton was announced on The One Show.
Funnyman Chris Ramsey is also competing as he goes head to head with football legend David James.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this autumn.
