Strictly Come Dancing in ‘advanced talks’ with Jonathan Ross’ wife Jane Goldman – The Sun

JONATHAN Ross’ wife Jane Goldman is in advanced talks for Strictly Come Dancing, The Sun can reveal.

The screenwriter, who helped pen films including X Men: First Class, had a meeting with the show’s talent executive Stefania Aleksander last week.

Jane, 49, is now a shoo-in to become the show’s first big signing of this series.

A source said: “Jane is one of the names at the top of the list for this year’s show.

“She has told friends she would love to have a whirl on the dancefloor.

“Jane knows Craig Revel Horwood, who’s a judge on the show, and he has encouraged her to give it a whirl.

“Jane is a huge name in her own right and she’s co-written huge Hollywood films.

“To have her on board would be brilliant.

“She’s spoken with Stefania and is in advanced talks, but nothing has been signed yet.

“Contracts won’t be worked up until later in the summer.

“But Jane is very keen and it looks like her diary will be clear for her to take part in the show.”

The talks between Jane and the BBC come 12 years after Jonathan’s high-profile sacking from the BBC.

Jonathan, 59, was forced to move to ITV with his talk show after he made a series of prank phone call with Russell Brand to actor Andrew Sachs which were broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

The incident, branded Sachsgate, saw Jonathan given the boot from the broadcaster – where his contract had been worth £16.9m.
