Strictly's Bill Bailey says he hopes his pro partner helps whip him into shape
COMEDIAN Bill Bailey is hoping his Strictly pro partner whips him into shape.
The star, 55, said: “I need someone who doesn’t pull any punches or sugarcoat it. You want someone who tells it to you straight.
“I need to know what’s right to get it locked in. I need someone who will push me and be disciplined.
"I’m a quick learner but learning to move and steps is like learning another language, so it might take a while to filter in.”
Bill says he will welcome Strictly’s glitzy costumes. “I’m not daunted by the outfits.
"I love putting on spangly stuff,” he said.
“I haven’t done it much in my shows because practically it’s a bit hard to carry off. I’m looking forward to the physical challenge.”
Bill has said his late mum, Madryn, loved watching Strictly.
Bill said: "I am delighted to be a part of this year's unique Strictly Come Dancing. My late mum Madryn would have loved it – I hope she'll be watching.”
Madryn died in 2005 after a battle with bowel cancer and Strictly is not the first time Bill has honoured his mum in a big way.
Since her death he has worked hard to raise awareness of the illness, but also to raise funds for research.
The comedian has participated in multiple 100-mile walks to raise money for the Stand Up To Cancer charity.
