Strictlys Neil Jones dealt blow weeks before 2023 rehearsals

Strictly’s Katya and Neil Jones discuss friendship after split

Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones could end up missing out on a celebrity partner for the second year running when the 2023 series begins.

Fans seem to think they have worked out who the stars will be paired with this year – as well as which of the professional dancers will be missing out this year.

Many have taken to Reddit to share their theories, and many think the 40-year-old won’t get paired with a celebrity again this year.

One said in their predictions: “Benched: Neil, Lauren, Michelle.”

Another agreed and replied: “Leaving Neil, Lauren & Michelle on the bench.”

“Benched: Neil, Luba and Michelle,” a third fan echoed.

Another Strictly fan seems to think Neil will be paired with the show’s oldest contestant, Angela Rippon.

They stated: “I can see Neil with Angela Rippon, though with his baby due in autumn completely see why he wouldn’t get a partner.”

Neil, who is set to welcome his first child very soon with his fiance Chyna Mills, missed out on a celebrity pairing last year.

Since joining the show in 2016, Neil has only had two partners during that time.

He came in fifth place with TV presenter Alex Scott on the 17th series, and in 2021 he was partnered with soap star Nina Wadia.

In a recent interview, Neil confirmed his future on the BBC programme, telling the Daily Star: “I’m not going anywhere.

“It’s what I love doing so much and Chyna is so supportive of me and so yeah, I’m going to keep going.

“I’ve been speaking to Aljaž as well and he was just telling me it’s the best thing in the world and he said, ‘I just want to look at her all day and I just want to spend time with her.’

“And I knew that because of how long I’ve known Aljaž for, he’s been wanting a child, him and Janette [Manrara], they’ve been wanting a baby and they’re gonna be the best parents.”

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in autumn.
