Tamra Judge From 'RHOC' Says Emily Simpson 'Loves Playing the Victim'
The bonding moment Emily Simpson and Tamra Judge shared on The Real Housewives of Orange County may have been fleeting. When Simpson approached Judge and her husband Eddie about creating a weight loss plan, the friends seemed to come together to help Simpson get healthy.
Simpson bravely got on a scale at Judge’s fitness studio where she learned her lean muscle to body fat ratio. Before she got on the scale she expressed her concern with seeing the actual number. Simpson said she hadn’t weighed herself in months and knew she was running from the hard truth.
She learned not only her body fat to lean muscle ratio, but also figured out how much she weighed, which was a hard moment. Judge told her she could make a lifestyle decision by simply starting with her diet. And while the friends seemed to come together and bond on the show, the closeness has all but disappeared.
Judge receives backlash about the report
Simpson told the couple she didn’t want to see how much she weighed. While Judge did not share the number with Simpson, she figured it out based on the body fat to lean muscle ratio. Simpson uttered how much she weighed on the show, which upset her.
While Judge was not the one to reveal Simpson’s weight she’s taking some heat for the reveal. Initially, she received praise for trying to help. She responded, “Eddie is the kindest guy I know. We are both passionate about helping people with their fitness goals. Emily was very brave to put her struggles out there.”
But then a tweet set off both Judge and Simpson, which turned the good-will into a war of words. “Emily is NOT obese at 34% body fat. Shame on Tamra and Eddie!!! for women 41-61yo: healthy: 23-35% overweight: 35-40% obese: over 40%,” a Twitter user remarked. At first, Judge responded, “Shame on us for being honest and trying to help Emily.” Simpson wrote, “Thank you.”
Twitter gets into a heated debate
More people commented on the post and Judge was left playing defense. One follower commented that she and her husband should have suggested Simpson visit a physician since she was having trouble with arthritis. “We did tell her to go to her doctor and you will see … she does!” Judge responded.
More people commented that Simpson looked great. “Why did she ask for our help ? You can be 120 lbs and have 35% body fat,” Judge asked. “It’s not healthy. Educate yourself. It’s not about how you look!!!”
But then someone remarked that Judge’s husband blindsided Simpson by reading the report. But Judge responded, “He was reading the report. It gives him a break down of fat/water/muscle.”
Judge says Simpson ‘loves playing the victim’
A Twitter follower observed that Simpson agreed to do the weigh-in scene. But Simpson responded, “I actually asked them not to film the screen. And I had no idea I was going to be weighed that day.” Simpson later reiterated that she asked producers to avoid showing her weight on camera.
While both cast members commented separately about the scene, Judge directly addressed Simpson about the comments she was making on Twitter. “You are unbelievable,” Judge wrote in a previous thread. “We try to help you and I’ve seen multiple tweet of yours that are not nice . Eddie spent over an hour with you talking health & nutrition. No one made you get on the scale! You love playing victim and it’s getting old!!!”
Simpson doesn’t see it that way. She wrote, “I simply said ‘thank you’ to someone who said I wasn’t ‘obese’. That’s all. If you want to read more into that, that’s on you.” But Judge insists Simpson’s comments went further.
