Telly cook Nigella Lawson caught in images submitted to planning chiefs for new conservatory | The Sun
TELLY cook Nigella Lawson applied to replace a conservatory and got caught in images submitted to planning chiefs.
She was pictured with hands on hips in the old glasshouse in a gaffe by her architects.
Nigella, 62, told planning officers the conservatory at the back of her mews home in a London conservation area had come to the end of its life.
Pictures show rainwater leaking between rafters into the kitchen where she whizzes up many of her much-loved recipes.
The conservatory housed her green Aga, utensils and shelves of crockery and pots and pans.
She wanted to replace the rickety structure — installed in 1989 — with a new all-glass design made by Trombe.

Planning documents said: “The property has previously been extended with a single-storey rear conservatory. This timber frame structure has reached the end of its lifespan, and the applicant would like to obtain consent to replace it with a simple contemporary structure of the same footprint.”
Eighteen neighbours were consulted and no objections were made.
Nigella was given full planning permission but was warned work needed to be carried out between certain hours and she was not to use the roof of the new structure as a terrace.
A spokesperson for Nigella declined to comment.
