Terrified Alfie lashes out at Phil after devastating illness news in EastEnders
Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) was completely rocked by the news that he has prostate cancer in recent EastEnders scenes, and ended up spiralling as he struggled to cope with his diagnosis.
It took Alfie a long time to pluck up the courage to head back to the hospital after learning that they had the results of his tests, and once he did he was hit with devastating news.
The doctor explained that his test results showed that it was highly likely that Alfie has prostate cancer, leaving him completely taken aback.
Struggling to come to terms with the diagnosis, Alfie headed to Peggy’s, where he immediately hit the bottle.
It was there that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) found him, and asked if his behaviour was down to him receiving the results of his tests.

Phil had been the one to take Alfie to the hospital in the first place, after Alfie’s pain from being punched by son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) failed to subside.
Alfie fired back that the only thing doctors had discovered was his heart of gold, though he had nothing to show for it.
Understandably bitter about his situation, Alfie lamented that Phil had a black hole where his own heart should be, but he had still got everything that Alfie wanted.
Angry, Alfie reiterated that they weren’t friends, so Phil should drop the ‘nice guy act’ and leave him alone.
Phil retaliated by telling Alfie that he was on his own, before leaving him to spiral further.
Luckily, broken Alfie had Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) to fall back on, once she had forgiven him for missing their meeting about adopting Mick and Janine’s baby.
However, Alfie kept his diagnosis hidden, leaving Linda totally in the dark.
Will he open up about his illness, or suffer in silence?
