'The Challenge' Season 37: Fans Report the Season Officially Finished Filming

Fans of MTV’s The Challenge can’t wait to hear what’s in store for season 37. The network officially announced the show will return with cast members new and old to duke it out for the big bucks. And now, fans report the new season officially finished filming. Here’s what everyone’s talking about.

MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ will officially return with season 37

Ever since the end of MTV’s The Challenge: Double Agents, fans have been waiting to hear more about what’s to come with season 37. Finally, the network announced the new season with a video featuring host T.J. Lavin.

“What’s up, guys, T.J. Lavin here,” he notes in the short promo video. “I just wanted to welcome you to the set of the 37th season of The Challenge, placed in beautiful Croatia. This is gonna be the most epic season yet.”

Aside from the season taking place in Croatia, the network remains mum on any details about the new season. But eagle-eyed fans have kept up with potential spoilers, including cast listings and filming hiccups. So far, it looks like the new season’s title is Spies, Lies, and Allies, and it will come with a spy theme. Additionally, the skull twist from the last few seasons reportedly won’t return.

Fans noted the season has officially completed filming

It looks like fan can look forward to another season of MTV’s The Challenge soon enough. The new season reportedly finished filming, according to fans on Reddit.

“PSA: Season 37 Has Finished Filming,” a Reddit user posted on July 1, 2021. “PSA: The influencers (finalists) have their phones back!”

Additionally, the Reddit user noted fans can get pumped for a ton of Challenge content unrelated to season 37. “Challenge fans are LIVING LARGE right now, with potentially five shows filming in the calendar year 2021: [All Stars] 1, S37, [All Stars] 2, Unannounced Spinoff, S38.”

So, when will fans get an official cast reveal? Reddit users noted spoiler accounts guessed MTV will release the cast listing by early July 2021. As far as the other shows go, like The Challenge: All Stars Season 2 and the unannounced spinoff, MTV and Paramount+ haven’t revealed any information on those just yet. But some cast members have spilled the beans that there’s surely movement surrounding the projects.

When is ‘The Challenge’ Season 37 coming out?

As for when fans will get to see MTV’s The Challenge Season 37, the network hasn’t made any premiere date announcements. But fans on Reddit think the season could come by the beginning of August if production already wrapped. And given the other ambitious projects MTV has on its plate, it makes sense they’ll want to finish season 37, air it, and move forward with whatever’s next in line.

Rumors noted production hit a few hiccups during season 37 as well. According to spoiler accounts, production had to halt filming due to following coronavirus (COVID-19) protocol (it’s likely a cast or crew member contracted the virus). This reportedly impacted who got to continue in the competition as well. We’ll have to wait and see how MTV handles the situation and what they choose to share with viewers.

ViacomCBS did not return a request for comment regarding rumors about The Challenge Season 37 by the time of publication.
