The Chase: ‘I’ve got a dispute!’ Mark Labbett corrects contestant over awkward error
The Chase returned to ITV tonight with the second instalment of the week and Bradley Walsh was back presenting the show. Joining him in the chaser’s chair was Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, hoping he was on top form to beat the four eager contestants.
Those watching at home tune in to see Amy, Elizabeth, Jason and Russell face Mark one by one, but before they did that, the quiz champion had a bone to pick with one of them.
Amy was up first and she managed to answered eight questions correctly scoring her a staggering £8,000 to face the board with.
Bradley then introduced all the possible chasers, but it was The Beast who walked out of the tunnel.
Amy was then offered a low and high sum; £2,000 to take a step closer to home or a whopping £28,000 to take a step closer to Mark.

Unable to decide what to do, Amy turned to her co-players and asked them what they thought she should do.
Player number three Jason said: “Definitely a fantastic cash-builder.
“I would stick with the £8,000, we don’t know what sort of form he’s in yet. He’s a great chaser.
“So your seat in the final chase would be brilliant to have,” he concluded.
Elizabeth added: “You were absolutely brilliant! I’m sure you could go for the £28,000, but go for the £8,000 and come back.”
Turning back to the table, Bradley said: “Ok, £2,000, £8,000 and £28,000, your choice please?”
Amy explained: “I think I’m going to stick in the middle because I want to be back.”
“£8,000 it is, Chaser…” Bradley added.
“I’ve got a dispute with Jason,” Mark commented.

“I’m not a great chase, I’m the greatest chaser. Let’s do this.” And his remark was met with laughter.
And it seems Mark’s comment was enough to rumble Jason as he failed to beat The Beast.
Turning up a the table with a measly £2,000, Jason wasn’t tempted by the high offer of £40,000, but instead took a step closer to home for £1,000.
Despite this, Jason was unable to add to the jackpot prize fund and was booted out of the competition.
For final player Russell, he proved his worth as he accumulated another £8,000 on the cash builder.
While he added this money to the jackpot, Mark was wary about his skills.
“How many times a week do you go quizzing?” The Beast asked to which Russell gave a non committal reply of “a few times”.
Turning to Bradley, Mark said: “He sounds to me like a classic old school quizzer, so what he knows I know. The difference here is what does Amy know?”
The Chase airs weekday evenings at 5pm on ITV.
