The One Show star announces engagement to boyfriend and shows off huge diamond
The One Show star Michelle Ackerley flashed her diamond ring as she revealed her beau has popped the question.
The presenter told fans on Instagram that her partner Benjamin Ryan had proposed during a morning walk.
Sharing a snap of them smiling while she held up her hand to show off her sparkler, Michelle wrote: "Nipped out for a morning stroll when this happened…!"
Benjamin shared the same sweet snap on his own account and told his followers: "Popped out for a stroll and asked @michelle_ackerley to pop that onto her finger. Thankfully she said yes."
The pair have been together for some time and Michelle's fans said they were thrilled that she is to tie the knot.
"YAYYYYYYY Michelle!!!!!! So happy for you," one fan said in the comments section.
Another wrote: "Wowwww congratulations!! Wishing you both so much happiness."
"Massive congratulations, what great news, so happy for you both," said another.
"Whoop whoop massive congratulations!" said another fan. "So excited for you."
Others commented on Michelle's "beautiful ring".
"Congratulations," said former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse.
TV star June Sarpong posted a string of clapping emojis.
Broadcaster Ayo Akinwolere wrote: "Like it was ever in doubt! Bout time he put a ring on it – lemme know when to get my suite dry cleaned."
Chloe Madeley – the daughter of TV legends Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan – posted: "Yaaay! So happy for you both, congratulations."
Michelle is best known for The One Show, and has been presenting episodes since 2016.
She has also appeared on other television shows such as All Over The Place, Watchdog and This Morning.
The presenter, 37, has also appeared in Celebrity MasterChef.
She and Ben have been dating for many years.
In the past, Michelle opened up about her battle with endometriosis, and later started a hormone treatment for it.
She endured menopause symptoms at the age of 24 as a result of it.
Speaking to Closer, she said: "I was experiencing intense pain with my endometriosis and heavy bleeding.
"I’d had laparoscopies [keyhole surgery to investigate inside the abdomen] and had tried various treatments, including pain killers, over the years, when my gynaecologist suggested trying hormone replacement therapy injections."
