The Teacher viewers seriously distracted by mobile phone blunder in latest episode

THE Teacher viewers have been left seriously distracted by a mobile phone blunder in the latest episode.

The Channel 5 drama sees Sheridan Smith play Jenna, a teacher who is accused of sleeping with Kyle, one of her 15-year-old pupils after a drunken night out.

Jenna has no memory of what happened, so pleaded guilty to sleeping with a minor and has lost her job and friends.

Last night's episode saw Kyle's mum Mary in a meeting with Jenna's school colleague Nina about her son.

As Mary questioned why the school was putting him on referrals rather than supporting him, Nina discreetly slid a mobile phone across the desk and told her to read the messages.

While Mary declared it wasn't her son's phone, she did read the exchange between her son and a mystery person which showed that they had set Jenna up.

Nina then revealed she had seen Kyle using the phone at the point she confiscated it from him.

However, viewers immediately questioned how Nina had not only been able to get into the phone, but why she would read the messages and why she hadn't then passed the phone onto the police.
