The Voice Finale Part 2 Recap: Season 23 Winner Is Crowned as Blake Shelton Bids Farewell
In the second part of season 23 finale of the long-running singing competition, the Top 5, Gina Miles, D.Smooth, NOIVAS, Sorelle and Grace West, will finally find out their fate.
AceShowbiz -“The Voice” will finally announce its season 23 winner! In the second part of season 23 finale on Tuesday, May 23, the Top 5, Gina Miles, D.Smooth, NOIVAS, Sorelle and Grace West, would find out their fate.
To kick off the big night, Cee-Lo Green hit the stage to sing an 80s medley including “Jack & Diane”, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and “Livin’ on a Prayer” with Blake Shelton‘s season 13 winner Chloe Kohanski, season 20 winner Cam Anthony, Wendy Moten from season 21 and bodie from season 22.
Later, coach Niall Horan took the stage with his finalist, Gina Miles, for a special duet of “New York State of Mind”. Following it up was hip-hop artist Toosii, performing his hit song “Favorite Song” that is going viral on TikTok.
After a clip package of Blake and Gwen Stefani was shown, Blake and Noivas performed “Home” for their duet. Noivas revealed that it meant a lot to him personally and it’d be an honor to sing one of Blake’s songs with him.
The next superstar performance was from Diplo and vocalist Lily Rose with their song “Sad in the Summer”. The United States Army Field Band followed it up with “I Live”.
Later, several musicians shared their messages for Blake ahead of his departure from “The Voice”. Among those who recorded videos for the country music star were Dolly Parton, Peyton Manning, Jimmie Johnson, Lindsey Vonn, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Wayne Gretzky.
Up next was finalist D.Smooth who teamed up with Kelly Clarkson for their duet of “Slow Dancing in the Dark”. Kelly said that she’s envisioned him singing the song ever since she heard his voice and she was excited to perform it with him.
Sorelle and Chance The Rapper then joined forces to sing “Ooh Child” as a quartet. After the performance, Rutledge Wood, host of the new “Hot Wheels” show, ran a quick race to predict which coach would win the season and the fastest Hot Wheel car down the slope was Blake’s.
Blake and Grace later offered a duet performance of “Lonely Night”. Rounding out the performances, former coach Adam Levine returned to the stage with Maroon 5 to perform their new song “Middle Ground”.
It was finally time to learn about the results. Host Carson Daly revealed that the fifth place finisher was Noivas. Sorele finished fourth place, while D.Smooth was the third place finisher. It was down to Gina and Grace.
The winner of “The Voice” season 23 was Gina Miles from Team Niall! It’s also a big win for Niall as the victory came in his first season on the show.
