The Walking Dead season 10: Boss teases new Daryl and Connie romance
WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from The Walking Dead season 10, episode one.
The season nine finale of The Walking Dead saw Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reeds) and Connie (Lauren Ridloff) begin to bond after everything that happened last season. However, things could be set to develop between the two as the director spilled all about the fan-favourites.
In conversation with Entertainment weekly, director Greg Nicotero began: “Well, I think that there’s definitely something there.
“Daryl sort of bonded with her at the end of last season. But it’s always tricky in these situations.
“And I think that Daryl definitely sees something in her that he likes based on everything that they went through last season. It’s sort of sweet.
“Any opportunity you get to see Daryl interacting with people, he always has that sort of shy, kind of bashful nature.”

Could Daryl and Connie find love in upcoming episodes?
The director certainly hasn’t ruled out the idea of Connie and Daryl becoming more than friends.
He went on to discuss the relationships Daryl has with other members of the group.
He added: “It’s the same as when he was with Beth in earlier seasons. It’s kind of sweet and it’s nice to see that.
“I think that’s why people love the scenes between Norman and Melissa so much because their chemistry is just so good.”
With Daryl and Carol in talks about running away together, will this stop Daryl and Connie developing their bond?
It seems the pair are going to stay put for the time being after showrunner Angela Kang opened up about the original duo.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly showrunner, Angela Kang was asked what’s stopping the friends from leaving like they said they would.

In response, the showrunner explained: “I think ultimately, even though both of them at times feel like they’d be better off alone.
“They love the people that they’re with so much, and it’s to the point where it’s painful.
“And I think that in some ways, neither of them have run off for good because what that means is really abandoning everybody else, and that’s hard for them.
“Even when Daryl was off in the wilderness last season, he was still maintaining ties to the community. It’s just that it had been a long time and Carol felt him slipping away.”

Moreover, it seems Daryl is worried Carol is in danger as she seems to be gearing up to wreak revenge on Alpha.
The showrunner added: “I think Daryl being a little bit in a different place emotionally right now feels that fear that maybe Carol is slipping away. And then on top of that, she might be slipping away into something really dark.
“His fear is that she is just on a revenge quest and that she’s not just at sea trying to heal and being off and having this moment of just being away from it all.”
The Walking Dead season 10 continues Sunday on AMC and airs Monday at 9pm on FOX.
