The Walking Dead's Melissa McBride 'to star in Rick Grimes movie' alongside Andrew Lincoln
THE Walking Dead's Melissa McBride is to star in the Rick Grimes movie alongside Andrew Lincoln, according to reports.
The actress plays Carol in the hit AMC series, which is getting its own big screen film spin-off starring Brit actor Andrew, 46.
Andrew left the show at the end of series nine, when it appeared that Rick had died in a bridge explosion.
However he survived, and the spin-off trilogy of films will follow what happened to him next.
Now website We Got This Covered is reporting Melissa will join the film's cast, with a source claiming she will appear in at least one of the big screen outings.
They told the outlet: "We can’t narrow down which of the three she’ll show up in yet, but she will be in at least one of them."
There is also speculation that Andrew's former co-stars Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Cailey Fleming and Jon Bernthal will also appear in the films at some point.
Earlier this month, new details emerged about the dark plots that could potentially occur in the trilogy.
According to We Got This Covered, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) will make a full recovery in a human encampment which seeks to find a cure to the zombie virus that has brought about the apocalypse.
“Scientists will have a mad side that includes experimenting on unwilling human subjects and being a little bit twisted, as the series’ antagonists tend to be,” the publication claimed.
“Furthermore, it’s said that something will happen in season 11 that leads to a number of characters heading out to go rescue Rick and help him escape from where he’s being held.”
When it comes to familiar faces heading off to track down Rick, Michonne (Danai Gurira) kicked of the process in season 10.
After discovering a picture of herself and Rick’s daughter Judith (Cailey Fleming) carved into a phone, Michonne became convinced that her lover was still alive and trying to send her message.
With Judith’s blessing she left the group in the middle of the war with the Whisperers with hopes of finding him.
