This Morning’s chaotic nativity play leaves viewers in stitches

They say never work with children and animals on TV and This Morning bosses learned that lesson today with their chaotic Nativity play.

The ITV chat show put on a live play with children from a primary school in Wolverhampton and a bunch of animals – and obviously it didn't quite go to plan.

Alison Hammond played the angelic narrator and forgot her words halfway through the play and the baby girl, Isabella, who was playing the baby Jesus, kept crying in her manger.

Holly Willoughby was forced to step in and tickle the baby to try and cheer her up.

There were also sound issues, which cut out much of Alison's narration.

But it was the sassy camel who stole the show on Twitter as she demanded to be fed in the middle of the Christmas scene.

Viewers took to Twitter to praise the chaotic performance.

One tweeted a string of laughing emojis, saying: "Well done Alison. At least it's not live!"

"How cute are these kids in the Nativity?" another posted.

"Aww how adorable do them kids look," another wrote.

A fourth said: "Omh I'm crying my eyes out watching this nativity, it's so sweet."

"What a beautiful nativity they should all be so proud," another agreed.
