Vicky exits Hollyoaks in heartbreaking goodbye scenes
Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) made a big decision about her future, resolving to leave Hollyoaks in order to be closer to her mum, who lives in Margate.
The teen, as viewers know, has been living with foster dad Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) since making her debut in the Channel 4 soap last April.
Over the festive season, she took a trip to Margate to spend the holidays with her mum, who later revealed that she was ready to have Vicky come live with her on a permanent basis.
Things, however, took a harrowing turn when a farewell camping trip in the woods led to Vicky ending up in hospital after drugs were found in her system.
It was later confirmed that she hadn’t meant to take the drugs, as she’d unknowingly drank from a cup containing the drugs, which led to her hospitalisation.
The drugs situation resulted in Vicky’s mum Kaitlin revealing that she’s not sure she’s ready to have Vicky back under her roof after all, but would instead welcome the opportunity to visit her more regularly if she moved to a foster home in Margate.
Scott was devastated, but resolved to show Vicky just how much she meant to him. That is, until Tuesday’s (February 7) edition of the serial drama revealed that Vicky was leaving imminently, which came as a huge shock.
DeMarcus Westwood (Tomi Ade) was keen to move with her, but – unwilling to let him sacrifice his relationship with his dad Felix (Richard Blackwood) – Vicky told him that she deliberately took the drugs, claiming that he doesn’t know her at all.
In emotional scenes, Vicky departed the village, evidently upset. Scott, meanwhile, was heartbroken when Vicky refrained from giving him a hug, as she got in the taxi and left.
But is Vicky really gone?
Metro.co.uk can confirm this is not the last we will see of her, with a spokesperson for Hollyoaks telling us: ‘This won’t be the last we’ll see of Vicky, she will still be a part of DeMarcus and Scott’s lives.’
Hollyoaks continues Wednesday February 8 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode from midnight on Monday over on All4.
