Strictly Come Dancing season 19 is well and truly underway, with former EastEnders actress Nina Wadia and her professional dancing partner Neil Jones being the first to leave last weekend. Despite one of their co-stars failing to make it past the first hurdle, the remaining 14 contestants will take to the dance floor once again this evening with performances curated around the biggest blockbusters in cinematic history. Fans of the BBC dance show won’t want to miss a moment so here is everything you need to know about when week three commences.

What time is Strictly Come Dancing on tonight?

Proceedings will run as normal as they possibly can with Covid restrictions still in place and McFly singer Tom Fletcher will be back in the running after he and his professional dancing partner, Amy Dowden, contracted coronavirus in week one.

The dance floor will be transformed into various sets from different films as the couples take on numbers from the movies, with this week being one of the most prestigious of the competition.

It will be another two-hour and 10-minute extravaganza this week, with the running time on each episode falling slowly.

Once again, it will be back in its primetime slot as the programme begins airing at 6:45pm this evening and finishes at 8:55pm.

There will be no disruption to the rest of the BBC One schedule as the autumn listings are usually dominated by Strictly fever.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be on hand to oversee the dancers taking on the movies and they will all be under the watchful eye of the judges.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, head judge Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke will be hoping the contestants replicate the iconic dances with precision and ease.

Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait and see who gets eliminated this weekend as the results show won’t air until Sunday.

This has been a format in place for many years and although some unofficial spoilers are leaked online overnight, the celebrity who made the exit during Saturday evening’s pre-recorded show isn’t confirmed until almost 24 hours later.

When time is the Strictly Come Dancing results show on?

On Sunday evening, the results show will air at 7:10pm and the episode will run for 50 minutes, as it did the week before.

The contestants will be saved one by one until the final two couples who will have to face the dance-off are revealed.

This weekend, there will also be a special guest performance by Ben Platt as he sings a song from the upcoming movie, Dear Evan Hansen.

All the professional dancers will be showcasing a routine put together to the soundtrack of In The Heights, which hit cinemas earlier this year.

The couple who are voted off by the judges will have to say their goodbyes before making their last appearance on the show 24 hours later.

They will join the team of the spin-off show, It Takes Two, to discuss their short-lived journey on the show.

However, eyes will also be on who is likely to get their hands on the Glitterball Trophy this year following Bill Bailey’s success last year.

According to the latest odds from the bookmakers, it seems television presenter AJ Odudu is going to be the one to beat.

Partnered with the newcomer to the professional cast, Kai Widdrington, the television presenter has already become a firm favourite with the judges and has dominated the scoreboard.

Coral bookmakers put her as the favourite to win as her chances of being eliminated next are 50/1, an achievement no other celebrity in the competition has got.

Whereas, her chances of winning are at 5/2, with her closet competition being EastEnders star the show’s first-ever deaf contestant, Rose Ayling-Ellis at 3/1.

Coral spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead said: “We price up four dancers at odds of under 10-1, who all have a great chance of winning this series. They are led by AJ, who is the favourite to lift the Glitterball Trophy at this early stage.”
