Amazon customer opens new £7 water bottle to find it filled with URINE

AN AMAZON customer has been left shocked after opening her new water bottle to find it allegedly filled with urine.

Sarah Starr, from Bristol, was sent the £6.78 Super Sparrow water bottle delivered yesterday, and she claims it had a murky, yellow liquid inside.

The 36-year-old mum purchased the bottle from Amazon for her daughter’s return to school, but was left “heaving” by what she found.

Images show the bottle in its plastic wrapping, with the fluid clearly visible through the cellophane.

Another picture shows the item out of the packaging and a quarter of it appears to be filled with liquid.

Sarah said today: “I was getting school stuff ready so opened up the parcel so that I could fill it with water. The box wasn’t damaged or open.

“When I pulled it out of the bag I saw the liquid and because the bottle is pink it looked brown in colour. I was scared to open it."

Sarah said she initially thought there may have been tea inside the bottle before she opened it.

“I put my friend on FaceTime when I was opening it and it was tight. You could feel the pressure releasing," she said.

“The stink was vile and I instantly knew it was urine. I was heaving so much I was sick. You can tell it’s been in there for a while."

£10 VOUCHER OFFER

Sarah called Amazon to complain, but says they only offered her a £10 voucher and even asked her to throw the bottle in the rubbish.

Unhappy with that offer, she shared pictures of the bottle to social media.

She posted a photo with the caption: “Just opened this to fill it up with water for school tomorrow, looks like someone got there first Amazon!

“I opened it and it stinks and I was sick. Tried speaking to customer services and said they can refund me.

“Someone has taken a leak in a bottle and all you want to do is refund me.”

The post revolted other social media users.

Tammy Judith wrote: “That's completely disgusting, how could anyone do that. I actually want to be sick. Hope you are okay.”

Bex Straker added: “That is awful. They should be investigating that, and whoever did it needs sacking", while Kel Cox said: “Oh my god, hell no.”

An Amazon spokesperson told The Sun Online: "We are taking this matter seriously and have reached out to the customer to make this right."

The Sun Online has contacted Super Sparrow for comment.
