  • Boris Johnson says getting takeaway to Number 10 is difficult due to security
  • Prime Minister says his two favourite bands are the Rolling Stones and The Clash
  • PM makes the comments in a new Conservative Party party political broadcast

Boris Johnson said the worst thing about being Prime Minister is that it is difficult to get takeaways delivered to 10 Downing Street because of the tight security.

The Prime Minister answered a number of lighthearted questions in a new Conservative Party general election advert.

He also revealed that his favourite band are the Rolling Stones and that he would always pick fish and chips over a Sunday roast.

Mixed in with the everyday life questions are a number about the Tories’ election campaign as the PM warned voters against supporting Jeremy Corbyn.

He said voting for the Labour Party on December 12 would likely result in a ‘coalition of chaos’ led by Mr Corbyn.

The Tories have tried to use the new party political broadcast to show a human side to the PM as he is asked questions as he walks through Conservative Party HQ before stopping to make a cup of tea.

Mr Johnson was asked what the most surprising thing is about being PM since he took charge in July this year.

He replied with a grin: ‘I was pretty incredulous the other day when I found out that I couldn’t actually get a Thai curry to deliver to Number 10 because of the security problems.

‘The security was too tight.’

Mr Johnson was then asked to choose between fish and chips and a Sunday roast dinner and he said that ‘on a cold night on a beach you can’t beat it.’

On the issue of music he said his favourite bands are the Rolling Stones and The Clash.

‘This is either The Clash or the Rolling Stones and mainly I listening to the Rolling Stones nowadays sop you can make of that what you will,’ he said.

Mr Johnson said the last time he had cooked was ‘last night’ – a meal of steak and oven chips which was ‘very good’.

The PM said that while the UK is ‘going gangbusters in so many ways’ the Brexit impasse must be broken on December 12.

‘But our political system is blocked at the moment and that is the thing that we need to address,’ he said.

Mr Johnson said the most surprising thing about being PM is the difficulty of getting takeaways delivered to Number 10 Downing Street

‘We need to get a new government, a new majority government and I hope a Conservative government and move this thing on.’

The PM said at the general election voters faced a ‘very, very simple choice’ between the Tories and Labour.

He said people could back the Tories with their ‘ready to go’ and ‘oven ready’ Brexit deal or choose Mr Corbyn who Mr Johnson claimed would preside over a ‘coalition of chaos’.

He closed by saying: ‘Let’s get Brexit done and unleash the potential of this whole country. See you later.’
