The father of a British boy who died Tuesday after falling from a holiday flat in Spain has spoken of his grief in a heart-breaking Facebook post.
Gary Briscoe from Wilmslow, Cheshire, paid tribute to 13-year-old Lucas on social media as he posted a photo of himself with the teenager, writing: ‘Anyone who has children please cherish every moment with them.’
Lucas died at 1.30pm local time in the Costa del Sol resort of Fuengirola after he fell from a sixth floor apartment terrace and landed on an internal balcony.
He was on holiday with his mum and a friend at the time.

‘I am absolutely heartbroken to lose my wonderful, talented, beautiful son at such a young age,’ Gary added in his post.
Devastated friend Mark Bryne said: ‘This is one cruel world we live in. I am so devastated to hear about the sad death of my close friend Gary Briscoe’s son Lucas who has sadly passed away on holiday. RIP my little champion.’
He added in a second message: ‘We are all here for you buddy. Don’t worry about anything else mate.’
Well-wisher Charlotte Loughran said: ‘Absolutely awful to hear of the loss. Simply cannot comprehend how the family must be feeling and my heart goes out to them.’

Friend Tony Johnson added: ‘Tragic news. I cannot begin to understand the pain the family must be going through. Sending my condolences and thoughts to Lucas’s family.’
Paramedics tried to revive Lucas at the scene but were unable to save his life.
Local reports said people who had raised the alarm had spoken of an ‘accidental fall.’
Police have taken routine statements from his mother and a friend of the dead boy who is understood to have witnessed what happened.
Well-placed sources have stressed there is nothing to indicate the boy’s death was the result of foul play.
Lucas was described by one source as a talented singer who fronted a band and had recently been selected to take part in a talent TV show. It is not known at this stage which show.
