Devastated dad returns to home where he found his three children’s dead bodies
Poignant photographs show a devastated dad returning to the family home where he found his three young children dead days ago.
Andrew McGinley is pictured looking at floral tributes outside the property.
Distraught neighbours in Newcastle, west Dublin, expressed their grief and embraced Mr McGinley today.
"What do you say to someone who has just lost his three children? It was hard to see him being back because no one quite knows what to say to him," one resident said today.
Mr McGinley now prepares funeral arrangements for Conor, nine, Darragh, seven, and three-year-old Carla. They were found dead at the house by Mr McGinley on Friday night.
Emergency services arrived but paramedics were unable to save the children.
Their mother, Deirdre Morley, a nurse at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, remains in hospital after she was found disorientated outside the property.
Speaking today, another mourner said: “He was very brave in going to Mass on Sunday and showed his bravery once again by returning to the family home.
"He went back to the place where his kids died and there aren’t too many people who could do this.
"The whole thing has been horrendous and everyone is just in a state of shock and disbelief.
"The community will no doubt do what it can to support him and his family."
Conor and Darragh's school has expressed its sadness at the deaths.
The statement from Scoil Chronain in nearby Rathcoole said: "It is a tragedy for our community.
"Our sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the McGinley and Morley families and all their friends.
"They were both wonderful boys and it was a pleasure to have them in our school. They will be greatly missed by all who knew them.
"Offers of support have been pouring and are really appreciated.”
The Sun says emotional tributes have also been left at the scene.
"Three little bulbs that had just started to bloom. RIP," one tribute reads.
