A historic first will occur today when former President Donald Trump surrenders at a Georgia jail on election fraud charges: he is expected to have a mugshot taken.
The former president will head down to Atlanta, Georgia, Thursday afternoon from his Bedminster, New Jersey, home. He will be officially booked and fingerprinted at the Fulton County jail.
He is then expected to have a mugshot taken as authorities in Fulton County said he can expect no special treatment.
The FAA has issued a temporary flight restriction for the airspace around the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta due to a ‘VIP moment’ today from 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm ET.
The ex-president is shaking up the legal team handling his defense in the Georgia case, according to CNN. He replaced attorney Drew Findling with Steven Sadow just hours before he heads down to Georgia to surrender.

On Monday, 77-year-old Trump’s bail was set at $200,000 and he was ordered not to send threatening social media messages.
Sheriff’s deputies have stepped up security, installing barriers around the run-down jailhouse.
He will have to be fingerprinted like other suspects at the notorious jail, and may, for the first time in his four indictments, have his mugshot taken.
The jail is well known for its squalid conditions, although Trump will not be held there while he awaits trial.
He posted on his Truth Social account on Wednesday that he was preparing to be ‘proudly’ arrested in Georgia.
‘NOBODY HAS EVER FOUGHT FOR ELECTION INTEGRITY LIKE PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP,’ the former president wrote on his Truth Social account.
‘FOR DOING SO, I WILL PROUDLY BE ARRESTED TOMORROW AFTERNOON IN GEORGIA. GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!’
Although there hasn’t been a mugshot released yet, Trump’s campaign used a fake picture to fundraise off the Fulton County sheriff’s threat. The campaign turned the image into T-shirts to sell.
The former president’s campaign claims it has racked in $8 million in donations since his first Manhattan indictment.
Trump’s arrest comes hours after the first Republican presidential debate.
Eight Republican contenders took the stage in Milwaukee on Wednesday night in a high-stakes debate.
Trump refused to attend the debate because he leads all of his rivals in the polls by double digits.
