Exotic dancer who allegedly killed 3 teens in drunken crash to be charged

The exotic dancer who authorities say drunkenly mowed down three Florida teens waiting for a bus to a soccer tournament over the weekend will be criminally charged.

Mariam Coulibaly, 31, was arrested late Tuesday and faces three counts of DUI manslaughter and three counts of vehicular homicide, the North Miami Police Department said in a statement.

Initial toxicology tests revealed that she was driving drunk, sources told the Miami Herald.

She was placed under police guard and will be booked once she is well enough to be discharged from Aventura Hospital, where she is recovering from a shattered hip and other injuries, according to the report.

She allegedly struck Gedeon Desir, 13, Lens Desir, 15, and Richecarde Dumay 17, all members of the local Little Haiti Football Club, early Saturday, when the teens were going to take a bus to a soccer tournament in Weston, according to the report.

Coulibaly was driving at least 60 mph in her SUV when she swerved off the road and ran over all three boys, police told the outlet.

All of them died at the scene.

Coulibaly may have spent part of the night working at The Body, a strip club close to North Miami, according to the report.

Toxicology tests revealed that even four hours after the crash, she was drunk by nearly double the legal limit, two sources with knowledge of the matter told the paper.

“I’m very much depressed about everything going on,” Coulibaly told the Herald from the hospital, where she was in intensive care, Tuesday morning. “I came from a blackout. When I woke up, I didn’t even know that I hurt people.”

She also has a lengthy traffic infraction history — a total of 42 incidents, including at least seven previous crashes, since 2008, the Herald reported.

“The North Miami Police Department will continue to work with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office to ensure the prosecution of this case,” police said in a statement. “Furthermore, we will collaborate with our community partners to assist and provide support to the victims’ families.”

An online fundraiser has been set up to help defray funeral costs for the teens’ families.
