Female cop’s horror selfie with huge gash in her head after ‘suspected drug dealer rammed her car during violent arrest’ | The Sun

A FEMALE police officer has revealed the grisly head injury she suffered while trying to arrest a suspected drug dealer.

The officer was slashed while attempting to detain a man in Wakefield in West Yorkshire, after spotting an alleged crime taking place.

Her bloodied face was shown in an apparent "selfie" posted on Twitter by the force's specialist "Project Adder" team targeting drug gangs.

The Twitter post said: "Our own PC Woods injured whilst apprehending suspect at #Wakefield.

"Suspected drug dealer rammed her vehicle as she was getting out of it.

"Arrested for wounding with intent to resist arrest & PWITS Class A drugs. Get well soon PC Woods."

She received a series of supportive messages online, including one person saying: "Get well soon PC Woods both physically and mentally. Be gentle with yourself and take the time you need."

Another wrote, "That's a nasty one. Get well soon officer.", while the Scottish LGBTI Police Association posted: "Best wishes for a speedy recovery."

West Yorkshire Police said she was taken to hospital for treatment after the attack on Friday morning, describing her injuries as serious but not life-threatening.

A suspect has been arrested and was in custody for questioning, but the force urged anyone with information to contact Wakefield CID on 101, online at westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
