First picture of five-year-old boy who drowned in ex-MLB star Carl Crawford’s pool with 24-year-old woman – The Sun

THE FIRST picture of the five-year-old who died at the Houston-home of retired MLB star Carl Crawford has been released.

Kasen Hersi, 5, drowned on May 16 during a record release party that was held by Crawford who is now a music producer.

24-year-old Bethany Lartigue has also been named as the second person who died at the party.

Crawford is now being sued by the five-year-old's mother for $1million, claiming that he did not do enough to prevent the tragedy from happening.

In a legal filing obtained by the Daily Mail, Kasen's mother, Liban, claims that Crawford "failed to take reasonable and necessary steps to prevent Kasen Hersi fro having access to the pool area.

"Kasen apparently left the house of Mr. Crawford to go to the pool area." the filing continued.

"He was located in the pool by another person at the party who apparently went into the pool in an attempt to rescue Kasen.

"Mr. Crawford was aware that he was the owner of a very large pool which would be a possible danger to an unsupervised 5-year-old."

The little boy is believed to have wandered off and fallen into the swimming pool, with Ms. Lartigue jumping in to try and save him.

Both sadly drowned.

'LOSS FOR WORDS'

Crawford and paramedics tried but failed to revive the victims at the scene, according to reports.

The former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder released a statement after the tragedy in May.

In a post to Instagram, he said: "My Hearts (sic) Heavy.

"The tragic events that occurred at my home will be with me forever. I'm at a loss for words.

"I've struggled all week to manage my emotions and I keep thinking of the families of those who've passed and their grief, I know they have it the hardest," Crawford continued.

"They are the first and last thing I think of these days. Please keep them in your prayers, I know they will always be in mine."

A series of clips posted on Instagram Story by rapper Erica Banks, who is signed to Carl's record label, show her and Lartigue, 24, partying with the sportsman and friends on Friday night.

They posted a tag of Houston, Texas, and can be seen twerking, smoking, and holding up a bottle of Hennessy while celebrating Erica's music success.

This is the second lawsuit that Crawford, 38, has faced this year.

In March, rapper Megan Thee Stallion sued him over the terms of her contract.

She sued Crawfords label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, and Crawford himself for $1million.

In the suit, Megan laid out the terms of her contract which she claims that 1501 received 60% of her recording income.

The remaining 40% went to her which she said she had to use to pay for engineers, mixers, and featured artists who work on her songs.

Megan also claimed that the contract, which she signed when she was 20, blocked her from releasing new music as she was trying to renegotiate the terms of her contact.
