George Floyd protesters breach Minneapolis police precinct, set it on fire
Minneapolis protests over the death of George Floyd took another violent turn Thursday night as a group of demonstrators broke into a police precinct and set it on fire.
Photos from social media show flames inside the lobby of the Minneapolis police department’s 3rd Precinct.
Another photo appears to show the front of the building’s facade ablaze.
Protesters could be seen entering the precinct Thursday night. It’s unclear if police were still inside.
The precinct over the past three days has been a primary target of unruly protesters as it’s believed the four officers involved in the Floyd’s Monday arrest worked there.
Thursday marks the third-consecutive night of violent protests.
On Wednesday night, protesters looted a Target and set several other businesses on fire.
