Jealous stripper, 29, and boyfriend jailed for robbing dancer of '£8k' after rich punter showered her with cash in club

A JEALOUS stripper and her lover have been jailed for robbing another exotic dancer of £8k – after spotting her being showered in cash.

Gemma Lyons and her boyfriend Nicholas Proctor wanted to cash in on fellow dancer Mihaela Sasarman’s fortunes when she was spoiled rotten by a rich punter.

Lyons, 29, attempted to entertain the generous client at the Honeypot gentleman’s club in Maidenhead, Berks, in January last year.

But the brunette exotic dancer was left fuming when Sasarman, whose stage name is Alesha, got showered in cash and all she got was a few free glasses of fizz.

CCTV issued by cops shows the moment Proctor pulls his victim to the floor before the pair wrestle for her bag.

The thug rips it away her, as dozens of banknotes begin to fall and cover the surrounding pavement.

Proctor, 36, from Hounslow, and Lyons, from Farnborough, stalked the stripper in his work van after she left the club in the early hours and walked to the train station.

The pair struck as their victim, in her 30s, started smoking a cigarette, and Proctor punched her in the head as he tried to grab the cash – leaving notes all over the floor.

She suffered a bruise under her left eye and a cut on her head in the violent 3am attack.

Reading Crown Court heard that Proctor claimed his DNA was only found on Sasarman because his girlfriend had stroked her on the arm earlier in the evening on January 30.

The thieves sobbed in the dock as they were each convicted of one count of robbery today, with Lyons jailed for two years and Proctor for five.

'CHILLING'

Recorder John Bate-Williams told the couple: “You two, in reality, in a graveyard quiet town centre, were the only real candidates.”

He added that Proctor was a “well-built coward, and his “violent determination” to carry out the pre-planned robbery was “quite chilling.”

Prosecutor Adrian Fleming previously told the court that the victim had earned around £8,000 on the night of the attack which angered Lyons so she “hatched a plan.”

He added that she recruited her boyfriend to take part in the attack, and told him to look for a small black velvet bag with the cash inside.

In a victim impact statement Sasarman said since the violent attack she had found it difficult to sleep and cries thinking about what happened.

She returned home to Romania because she couldn’t bring herself to return to work and only came back to the UK for the trial.

She added: “To find out a co-worker was responsible shook me. I thought we would look out for each other and not prey on each other.”

Defending Lyons, Sam Smart told the court that she had gone from “abusive relationship to abusive relationship” and was taking drugs at the time.

The mum-of-one also suffers from ADHD and a borderline personality disorder, committing the offence after one of her relatives attempted suicide.

She wrote the victim a letter apologising, has completed a narcotics anonymous course and is seeking help to address her offending behaviour.

Alan Walker, mitigating for Proctor, said: "Shame doesn’t even come close to it…he wishes he could turn back time.

“He is standing before the court today genuinely remorseful.”
