A PEDESTRIAN has been hit by a lorry and airlifted to hospital after an M5 accident in Taunton which caused hours of delays.
Cops have confirmed a person was hit by a lorry on the motorway in Somerset today.
The M5 was closed in both directions at Junction 25 after the incident reported shortly after 12noon, with drivers advised to avoid the area,
It reopened just after 2.30pm, National Highways said.
But officials warned there would still be hour-long delays northbound and 80-minute waits southbound.
National Highways South West posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Please allow extra time for your journeys."
