Majority of Brits have 'no interest at all' in watching Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix shows

THE majority of Brits say they have "no interest at all" in watching Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Netflix shows.

When asked, 64 per cent said they were not interested at all in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's latest project, while just three per cent were "very interested".

Harry and Meghan revealed this week they had signed a production deal with the popular streaming service.

They plan to make documentaries, films, scripted and kids’ programmes and could earn almost £200million once bonuses are factored in.

But a survey of 2713 Brits revealed 20 per cent were "not very interested," in the new venture and only nine per cent said they were "fairly interested".

Of those asked, four per cent said they "did not know".

The couple, who quit royal duties in March, said they wanted their “impactful” output to “unlock action” and “give hope”.

Their lives “have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection”, they added.

But despite Harry and Meghan's goals, Netflix is still set to screen a sordid musical about Princess Diana, in which the Queen calls her a “tart” and says “in the old days we would have chopped off your head”.

The stage show details the breakdown of Charles and Diana’s marriage with swathes of vulgar dialogue and scenes of fiction.

Diana squares up to Camilla in one, while another sees her kissing polo player James Hewitt in bed.

Diana is also shown to self-harm after Charles moans about “another boy” when Harry is born.

Harrylast night faced calls to stand up to his new TV paymasters and get Diana: A New Musical, pulled.

The show was previewed in New York in March — with theatregoers promised a tale about a “fearless princess who became timeless”.

However, a planned Broadway run was cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The pair have also been told to pay back £2.4million owed to the taxpayer for renovations on their Windsor home, since scooping up their megabucks deal.

They owe at least £2.4million for extensive renovations on Frogmore Cottage which they abandoned to live in £14.7million California mansion.

Meghan and Harry pledged to pay back £18,000 a month – although the sum will take them 11 years to clear.
