Man baffled after opening tin of Heinz baked beans to find just ONE bean inside – The Sun
A HUNGRY baked beans fan panned Heinz after cracking open one of their cans to just find a single bean inside.
Steve Smith, 41, was desperate for a quick meal at the end of a busy day and grabbed the last tin of a multipack in the cupboard.
But he was shocked to open it and discover a solitary bean drowning in juice. The councillor, who bought the Heinz beans from Tesco, said: “I got back late from a residents’ meeting and wanted some food.
“I poured out the tin and I found one bean.
“I thought it was funny — but annoying! It was the last tin we had in the cupboard. I had to have scrambled egg instead.”
Steve, a Conservative councillor for Westbury-on-Trym and Henleaze in Bristol, usually tucks into a beans meal “once every couple of weeks”.
A standard can contains an average of 465 beans.
But after finding his one flying solo, he posted a video on Twitter and tagged manufacturer Heinz in the hope they “would see the funny side”.

He told them: “I enjoy ‘bean juice’ as much as the next person, but when I opened a can this evening I was hoping for more than one bean.”
Heinz replied to Steve asking for his details, but it is not known what action they have taken.
Steve later joked: “I’ve had more interest on this than in any of the actual issues I’ve worked on as a councillor.”
