New York to allow anyone over age 60 to get COVID-19 vaccine

New York will now allow anyone age 60 and over to get the COVID-19 vaccine starting Wednesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced.

Previously, New Yorkers age 65 and over were eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

He added that “public-facing” government and nonprofit workers, and essential building service workers, will also become eligible for the coveted shots starting March 17, though he didn’t immediately outline exactly whom that covers.

He added that all vaccine sites in the state — besides pharmacies — will be open to give shots to any eligible New Yorker starting March 17.
