Shock moment girl, 12, is arrested for ‘stabbing brother, 9, to death’ as she repeatedly apologizes to cops | The Sun

THIS is the shocking moment a 12-year-old girl repeatedly apologizes as she's arrested for allegedly stabbing her nine-year-old brother to death.

Police bodycam footage shows the weeping youngster praying and asking if she's going to jail after she was arrested at their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The siblings' mom, April Lyda, told cops she was asleep upstairs when her daughter woke her up to say she had stabbed her brother Zanda.

Zanda was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery but later died from his injuries.

Footage obtained by Law & Crime shows his older sister sobbing and repeatedly apologizing as officers arrived at the home on January 5.

The girl can be seen running downstairs yelling: "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."

She asks the cops: "Are the handcuffs necessary? I’m a good child."

While in the cop car, she says: "I ruined my life. I ruined my whole future."

"I just want to wake up from this nightmare," she cries.

"I already know I’m gonna go to jail for the rest of my life… what I did was super illegal."

At the police station, footage shows Lyda being interviewed, where she says her daughter had never shown any aggressive behaviour.

The Tulsa Police Department said the girl admitted to the stabbing after being taken into custody.

She remains in juvenile custody with the Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit in charge of the investigation.

Lyda's friends have set up a GoFundMe to support the family – and paid tribute to Zanda.

Pal Jennifer Anthamatten described him as an "amazing son" who "wanted to make his mom proud".

She said Lyda – who also has a three-year-old son – has been left "completely devastated and confused".

Jennifer wrote: "Zander was the sweetest boy who had the biggest smile, he loved to ride his bike, play Fortnite, hang out with his best friend or just run errands with his mom.

"He loved spending time with his dad and grandma, going on trips with his family, and his favourite places was sky zone, incredible pizza and the children’s museum.
