People who invest in solar panel parks in their area could receive cheaper energy, Labour will claim tomorrow.
Sir Keir Starmer will pledge that a Labour government will promote ‘clean power’ partnerships to encourage local eco-friendly schemes.
The Labour leader said: ‘I want people to see the benefit of that power. With Labour, they will.’
The announcement comes after the party was forced to climb down on plans to spend £28 billion a year on a ‘green transition’ for the country.

Last night Tory MP Paul Bristow said: ‘Offers of cheaper energy from Sir Keir Starmer aren’t worth the recycled paper they’re written on.’
Under the Labour plan, a new publicly-owned company called GB Energy would form partnerships with locally elected leaders, communities and private firms to build clean power sources in ‘cities, towns and villages across Britain’.
