Starbucks pumpkin spice latte and other seasonal drinks hit menus August 30
Starting Tuesday, August 30, Starbucks is bringing back the famed Pumpkin Spice Latte, along with a few other festive drinks, as part of its seasonal menu rollout.
The Seattle-based coffee chain’s original Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe includes espresso, steamed milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and pumpkin-flavored sauce topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice. The favorite fall drink will be available hot, iced, or blended.
The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew will also return to U.S. menus for the fourth year in a row. The cold brew option is sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with cold pumpkin cream foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice.
Cold beverages have been a big win for Starbucks. In its fiscal third-quarter earnings report, Starbucks noted that 75% of beverages sold were cold, up from 12% in the previous quarter.
This year, the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, which was added to the fall menu last year, is getting an update. It will now be made with creamy oat milk and blonde espresso along with apple, cinnamon, and brown sugar flavorings and a spiced apple drizzle.
Pumpkin-inspired bakery items will also return to stores. In addition to the pumpkin loaf available year-round, customers can also order the pumpkin cream cheese muffin and pumpkin scone for a limited time.
A new Owl Cake Pop, made with vanilla cake, buttercream, and purple chocolatey icing, will also be added for a short time.
Other food chains betting big on pumpkin spice include Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Campbell Soup Company’s Pepperidge Farm, General Mills, Mondelēz International, and 7-Eleven, among others.
