Surgeon who forced himself on junior doctor escapes punishment after holding 'I'm a sex pest' presentations for colleagues
A SURGEON who forced himself on a junior doctor has escaped punishment after holding “I’m a sex pest” talks for colleagues.
Dr Milind Mehta, 48, lured a student to his office under the pretext of showing her a slideshow on orthopaedics and kissed her neck and shoulders, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service heard.
He also repeatedly hugged her to press her chest against his.
The panel imposed no punishment after learning Mehta lectures workmates about crossing boundaries and urges them to learn from his mistakes.
He spoke in front of groups of up to 75 medical professionals about abusing the work and personal boundaries in the industry.
Chairman Stuart McLeese said: “Your case is an exceptional one. Foremost is that you have, over a lengthy period of time since the incident in question, publicly involved yourself in presentations and discussions that were specifically based upon your own inappropriate behaviour and shortcomings.”

The chairman said he was confident Dr Mehta would never re-offend and praised him for helping to develop an open and transparent culture.
He was found guilty of sexually motivated misconduct at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, Moray, Scotland, in 2015.
