Teacher faces sack after 'setting pupil homework to break up with her boyfriend'

A TEACHER told a pupil that her homework was to break up with her boyfriend, a panel heard.

James Hume even offered to write a script for her, she claimed.

But the ICT teacher denied there was any sexual motivation, insisting: “It was a joke.”

However, another girl pupil claimed that he ­massaged her shoulders and rubbed the bra strap area of her back.

She said he also placed his hand over hers while she was using a computer mouse. But he denies her claims saying he touched her only as a gesture of support.

Married Hume faces allegations of unacceptable professional conduct at Cowbridge comprehensive near Cardiff.

He taught pupils up to the age of 16 for eight years — but has now left the profession.

The Education Workforce Council hearing in the city continues.
