This is the horrific moment a drunken Ryanair passenger grappled with cabin crew after he ‘bought a litre of Jägermeister’ at duty free before boarding the flight.

The passenger was filmed barging into a male cabin crew member on-board the flight from Manchester to Dublin early this morning, as he was told by others to ‘sit down’.

A female member of staff attempt to restrain the man by dragging him backwards, but he ran into the steward.

Another passenger could be heard shouting: ‘I’ve got my five year old here today, sit down!’ A third crew member said: ‘Please stop.’

The man said: ‘Get your f*****g hands off me,’ whilst pushing the steward back. He then took off his jacket and shouted ‘get off me’ multiple times.

The flight – which was originally due to take off at 22.40 on Friday – ended up departing at 3.29am today, almost five hours later.

A 37-year-old woman from Stockport, who wanted to remain anonymous, witnessed the situation and said the man was ‘swearing’ and ‘being violent,’ onboard the flight.

She told MailOnline: ‘We got onto the plane and then this young chap had been drinking, I think because it had been delayed he went to duty-free and got himself a litre bottle of Jägermeister and he was drinking that before he got on the plane.

‘He was just kicking off on the plane and so we then remained on the tarmac for God knows what time. We landed at 4.30am.

‘We were stuck on the tarmac for just under four hours waiting for new crew. Everyone was relieved when he was moved off the flight.’

The passenger said she thinks that the crew had gone over their working hours and therefore had to be replaced with new members of staff.

‘I’m a very, very nervous flier and it’s the first time I flew on my own as well so it was really traumatic. We were literally waiting to take off when he jumped out of his seat and I thought we were going to take off with him like that,’ she added.

‘I was nearly crying to be honest, I was messaging family saying “I need to get off this flight”.

‘It’s just scary, it’s out of your control, you’re confined to a space, basically your life is in someone else’s hands and then you get some idiot doing that – it just completely blows your confidence.’

The woman added that the plane had to taxi back to the gate where they waited for hours and ran out of bottles of water and children on the flight – as young as five years old – ‘were crying’ because they were stuck on the runway.

The woman claimed that the drunken passenger was arrested and taken off the flight by police officers.

Greater Manchester Police and Ryanair have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.
