Tourist dies in Barcelona after being brutally attacked by a gang of Russians in a street packed with holidaymakers

A CHINESE tourist was killed in Barcelona after being brutally attacked by a gang of Russians outside a nightclub.

Police are now launching their fifth murder investigation in the city this month.

Footage released by a police union show a gang of Russians fighting with some Chinese men they had previously had an argument with in a club in Barcelona's Olympic Port.

Other revellers can be seen fleeing the area as kicks and punches are traded before one of the Chinese men ends up on the floor after being thrown to the ground by one of his rivals.

The same man in a black T-shirt who put him on the ground is filmed kicking him and punching him as he lays helpless under him before delivering another right kick to his head.

The victim’s friends pull him away and he can be seen getting to his feet – but the unnamed 25-year-old later died in hospital from his injuries.

The incident is understood to have happened outside a club called Zich in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A spokesman for CPU Policias Unidos said in a social media message: "In Barcelona in the Olympic Port, a fight between a group of Chinese and Russian men broke out which ended with one of the Chinese men dead as a result of the kicks and punches he received.

"He died hours later in hospital. This is the fifth homicide this month in the city."

Police have yet to make any arrests.

Some of the most famous nightclubs in Barca are in the Olympic Port, which also boasts a wide range of shops and restaurants.

It is the gateway to the city’s beach and close to Barcelona Zoo, which is a popular attraction for families.
