Trump says he will leave White House if Biden beats him… and slams Dem for pushing ‘conspiracy theory’ he wouldn’t – The Sun
TRUMP says he will leave the White House if Biden beats him… and has slammed the Democrat for pushing a "conspiracy theory" he wouldn't.
The president blasted Joe Biden as being "not all there" for suggesting troops would need to drag him out if he failed to win a second term.
In an interview with Fox News on Friday, Trump said he would leave the Oval Office peacefully but that it would be a "very sad thing for our country".
The comments came after claims made by Vice President Biden that the military would have to force Trump to leave if he lost and that the president would try to 'steal' the election.
When asked by host Harris Faulkner whether Trump had heard Biden's comments, he responded: "Look, Joe's not all there, everybody knows it and it's sad when you look at it and you see it, you see it for yourself.
"He's created his own sanctuary city in that basement, wherever he is, and he doesn't come out."
Trump continued to say that he would leave office peacefully if he lost in November and would move onto another endeavor.
"Certainly, if I don't win, I don't win," he said.
"I'll go on and do other do other things.
"I think it would be a very be a very sad thing for our country".
Look, Joe's not all there, everybody knows it and it's sad when you look at it and you see it, you see it for yourself.
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Biden, has been continuing with his campaign from his basement due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The former vice president was speaking during an interview with the Daily Show's Trevor Noah which saw him repeatedly raise questions about the integrity of November's ballot.
Biden said: “This president is going to try to steal this election."
Asked whether he thought the president could seek to rig the process in his own favour, he added: “It’s my greatest concern. My single greatest concern.”
Biden was also asked whether he had thought about the possibility that Trump could lose the election but refuse to vacate the White House.
"Yes I have," he said.
He later referenced the numerous former military officials who have recently criticised Trump over, among other things, his response to the protests that followed the death of George Floyd.
“I promise you, I’m absolutely convinced they will escort him from the White House with great dispatch," he said.
