Two men and a woman killed minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve in crash between lorry and car – The Sun

THREE people were killed and another person seriously injured in a horror crash just minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve.

Two men, aged 25 and 23, died at the scene while a woman in her 20s was also tragically killed when a car and lorry collided in Stanwell, Surrey.

A 25-year-old woman was also rushed to hospital and remains in a serious condition.

It is understood the collision between the white Toyota Yaris and white Mercedes HGV unfolded at the junction of Bedfont Road and Long Lane at 11.39pm.

The HGV then left the road – ending up in Longford River.

The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital as a precaution.

No arrests have been made.

Sergeant Chris Schultze from the Surrey and Sussex Roads Policing Unit said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved in this collision at what is an extremely difficult time.

"We are continuing to appeal for witnesses to what happened and would urge anyone who may have any video footage, CCTV or dashcam or any other kind, to get in touch with us."

The road remains closed while recovery of the HGV takes place this morning.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man was killed just minutes into the New Year after a silver BMW 3-series crashed into a tree in Walsall, West Midlands.

The man, from Walsall, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

It comes after three teens were stabbed during a New Year's house party, with a number of people arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
