Vanessa Bryant's mom insists SHE'S been wronged as she sues daughter for $5M for being 'nanny' to grandchildren

VANESSA Bryant’s mother on Friday said she felt “wronged” as she pursued a $5million lawsuit against her daughter over how she's been treated since NBA star Kobe Bryant died.

In a statement responding to “false accusations” from Vanessa Bryant, Sofia Laine claimed that “all I wanted is what I worked for," according to TMZ.

The suit alleges that Laine worked as an unpaid “longtime personal assistant and nanny” to the Bryants for years.

Laine stated in her response that her daughter tried to sever all ties on agreements “despite everything that I have been promised and done for her and the family.”

“Why would she do this to her own mother?” Laine stated.

“I am so disappointed, hurt, and wronged to the point that I had no choice but to file a lawsuit."

The mother expressed disbelief that her daughter was “doing this to me” given she is almost 70 years old and has deteriorating health.

Laine sued her daughter earlier this week, claiming that Kobe Bryant promised to care for her for life before his tragic death in January, but that Vanessa Bryant has tried to cut her out.

The mother claimed that she served as the Bryant family’s nanny for close to two decades and that her daughter “drafted and enforced an extremely strict schedule for the round the clock care of my grandchildren.”

Laine said she was “forced” to be a nanny 24/7 and did not get proper breaks or meals, and that she toiled through the holidays and weekends.

Meanwhile, Vanessa Bryant has denied her mother’s account, claiming that she has supported Laine for almost 20 years and that she “was never my or Kobe’s personal assistant, nor was she a nanny.”

Vanessa Bryant said she and her husband were their daughters’ full-time care givers and that Laine only babysat her older girls on occasion.

“This lawsuit is frivolous, disgraceful, and unimaginably hurtful,” Vanessa Bryant said.

“My husband never promised my mother anything, and he would be so disappointed in her behavior and lack of empathy.”

Laine’s 48-page lawsuit alleges: “Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant’s promise did not see the light of day as he is now deceased and Vanessa Bryant took each and every step she could to void and cancel all of Kobe’s promises.”

Speaking on Univision’s El Gordo y La Flaca show in September, Laine claimed that her daughter told her, “I need you to get out of this house,” and that “she also told me that she wanted her car and she wants it now.”

In her latest statement, Laine said that she sued and did not make public comments because she wanted to avoid attention.

She blamed her daughter's actions for making the issue a public quarrel.
