Woman staying at Kennedy Compound dies of suspected drug overdose
A woman staying at one of the homes on the Kennedy Compound in Cape Cod died after a suspected overdose on Thursday, according to reports.
Police are investigating the death after they were called to the Massachusetts compound at around 2:30 p.m. in response to overdose, according to WCVB.
Sources told The Hyannis News that the home belongs to 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy, the widow of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
The Kennedy Compound consists of several waterfront homes along the Nantucket Sound in Hyannis Port, the report said.
It’s unclear if the woman died at the property or at a hospital. Her identity was not known on Thursday.
The death takes place 50 years after the late Senator Ted Kennedy’s car plunged off a bridge off of Martha’s Vineyard, killing his 28-year-old passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne.
